Canelé

A canelé (French: [kan.le]) is a small and delightful pastry hailing from the Bordeaux region of France.

Traditionally, it takes the form of a beautifully fluted, dark, caramelised crust, containing a soft custard centre, flavoured with vanilla and rum.

Plum and ginger trifle is my go-to offering for the family Christmas table. As I sadly won't be with my family this Christmas, I thought the next best thing would be to create this delight as a canelé to share with you lovely people! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
